Judges Comments

One of Owen Edwards former students, James attracted a lot of attention early on with a very healthy public vote due to his funky take on rock/metal guitar. With his whacky humour filled chops bringing to mind Nuno, Blues Saraceno, Christophe Godin – and even a little Mattias IA Eklundh – James was noted by several judges as one to watch…

Great composition – with a little more attention to his vibrato and phrasing James will be the complete package!

I’m 19, been playing for about 6 years and have achieved grade 8 on electric guitar. I’m heavily influenced by rock/blues like Hendrix, Slash, Perry etc but also love to add something different to a song – hence why my influences include Mattias Eklundh and Christophe Godin, I’m also quite partial to a bit of John Zorn. I’m an advertising student at Bournemouth Uni and teach electric guitar for my beer money! Other than that I’m a bit of a nutter who loves to go out with mates and have a laugh, preferably with a guitar not too far out of reach!
