Elliott Blackler – 6/2/1987

Elliott started playing the guitar age thirteen, although he had some previous experience with classical instruments. Whilst taking to guitar like a duck to water with a fender acoustic, he soon graduated to a Fender Strat(still his favourite guitar).

Elliott is currently studying for a BA Honours degree in Music and has previously attained Grade 8 in both Guitar and Bass Guitar exams. Further he has Grade 7 Music Theory. Elliott is a registered guitar/bass tutor and teaches in locally.

Session work with Rivera Music led to Elliott becoming a member of the band ‘The Kontrol Freaks’, who played at Rockingham as an opening act for ‘Take That’ member Mark Owen.
Regular trips to Bath to play in the National Youth Rock Orchestra led to a performace as an opening act for Mr Big guitarist Paul Gilbert.

This piece ‘Free Me’ was recorded in 2006 on an 8 track Boss 1180. The stucture of the instrumental gives it a defined shape with contrast between verse and chorus sections. Have a listen !
