Judges Comments

A simply phenomenal guitarist – this colossus from the West Country is a truly scary player, who covers many technical styles at will and was shortlisted by several judges including Owen Edwards. Edward Box was also impressed: “Conrad is a top fusion/rock player and I particularly enjoyed his arpeggio burn out! Expect great things from this man!“

I am a South West based UK guitar player. I started playing the guitar at the age of 14. When I was 19 I became a guitar teacher, and started playing for Plymouth based “Shekinah Band” who I remained with for 8 years.
In the year 2000 I played in the grand final of the UK national guitar competition, “Jam 2000” at Birmingham NEC where I placed in the final 5.
Over the next few years I put my time into practicing, studying music, recording, playing locally on the Plymouth / Torbay circuits and teaching the guitar.
In 2006, I joined Jazz Funk outfit “Dimitri” and also started the “Conrad Harpham Trio”, an instrumental rock fusion outfit. The Conrad Harpham Trio are currently playing in venues in the South of England, performing concerts and technique workshops. In August last year, I received the “Outstanding musician” award at the Devon Battle of the Bands competition, whilst playing with the trio.
2008 has so far brought more concerts and workshops for the Conrad Harpham Trio and the release of my latest CD
