Sorry, flash is not available.
My Name is Tony
I’m 43 years old and I’m a guitar-a-holic!!!
In the beginning…
Had an acoustic guitar from the age of four (1968) and managed to learned the whole of Bert Weedons 22 golden guitar greats by the time I was 11 at which point my grandfather bought me an Audition electric guitar from Woolworth for £10. I wanted to play just like the guitarist on the Ennio morricone spaghetti western soundtracks. I played a couple of concerts with members of the school orchestra before forming an awful punk band at high school. At this time I’d been listening to The Damned, The Clash, Blondie, The Stranglers etc. Left school and formed another equally awful band while listening to Killing Joke, The Cure and very early U2 stuff. Joined a rock band around 19 and ended up playing Thin Lizzy covers back in the days when you had to slow a 45 vinyl record down to 33 to work out the solo’s (any 40+ players out there know what I’m talking about) no internet in those days. Played in loads of rock bands and slowly started to listen to a load of different stuff. Santana, Knopfler, Frampton, Van Halen, Vai, Schon, Carlton, Lukather.
Current…
Still in a band 30 years later playing 90% (cheesy) 10% (credible) covers with some great friends and I love it. I love Valley Arts guitars but have too many others for my own good.
The Track ‘Blue Pool’…
Written about 6 years ago by me along with my son and consigned to the folder on my computer called ‘Guitar stuff’ along with about 50 other ideas.
Equipment used…
Guitar: Stock Ibanez RG550 (from ebay £250)
Amp: Digitech RP7 (from ebay £65)
Plastic drums: (Roland TD6) Great ‘real’ 16 year old drummer!
