Hi, im Alex and im from Birmingham, England. Here is my entry for guitar idol.

Im not a fan of instrumental music with the exception of a couple of players, most of the music i listen to i contains vocals and is quite progressive. Bands such as Dream Theater, Rush, Metallica, Opeth and Genesis. Ideally i would have liked to submit song that was intended to be an instrumental but i was rushed for time so i decided to improvise over a couple of riffs i have. The song was and still is meant for a full band with vocals but for the purpose’s of the competition i adapted it and basically played a solo over the top. This was perhaps my strongest overall take. Its not perfect but i didn’t have the luxury of combining the best of different takes. I feel it is at least quite raw and energetic. I have 4 other versions for any interested parties!

Anyhow, the original intention for the song is something entirely more progressive and, with exception to the begginning, none of the lead guitar you hear will be used. That said, now that this entry has been submitted i can finally develop the song as i wanted. I hope you enjoy this shreddy incarnation.
